Girls Outdoor Track
Season record: 11-2
 

After a winning regular season, the team placed 1st in the county, 2nd in the region, 2nd at the Southern Invitational, 5th at Mt. St. Joe's Invitational, and 1st at the AACo Relays for the first time ever! They had a great season and were especially strong in distance, specialty jumping, and hurdling events. There are many newcomers on the team who show promise. Our success was a definite team effort with only 12 team members a the the of the season. All athletes competed in at least 3 or 4 events at every meet. Our seniors this season included: Kerra Strum-unbelievable is the word for this first year team member. She was an integral part of our success. She tackled many specialty events which often take years to learn. She won the 100 hurdles at the county meet beating the reiging county champ, 2nd in the 300 hurdles and 3rd i the 100 hurdles qualifiying for the state meet in all three of these events. She was fifth in the long jump narrowly missing state qualification. Erin Masterson-had a great season and great career at Annapolis. She won the 800, 1600, and 3200 meter runs at both county, and region meets. she was on numerous all county teams. During the season, she lost only one race. She is on the best distance runners ever to run at Annapolis. She will be attending William and Mary College this fall. She was the high school athlete of the week for The Sun newspaper. The team voted for next years captains: Rachel Dalby, Christina Cortes, and Holly Newquest.
